WHY OUR AUTO REPAIR CUSTOMERS STAY WITH US

Great local specialty automotive shop, the guys have a high level of knowledge for foreign automobiles and have done beautiful work for me several times. Reasonable money for honest, high quality work. I trust them with my vehicles and you should too. If you have a car you care about I would have these guys servicing it. Don't make the mistake of taking your specialty automobile anywhere else.

The only place that touches my Audi. Vinny and the staff are awesome. Very honest and reasonable people. As long as I own a German vehicle, they will always be my spot for maintenance and other procedures. I highly recommend!

Vinny and crew are the best. Great service and honest pricing, never an upsell, if he says you need the work done you need the work done. He did work on my Ford Five Hundred, $200 for labor and parts....Ford Dealer in Berlin CT gave me quote for over $1,500 to do what Vinny did plus all the other upsell repairs that they said was needed.

How Our Vehicle Diagnostics Will Get To The Problem

At Century Auto Service, we are prepared to run the preventive diagnostics that your car's cooling and heating systems need. Once you have set up an appointment with our team, we will then coordinate with you when to drop off your vehicle and update you on where we stand with your vehicle.

Afterwards, we will run diagnostics using the latest technology to analyze every component and, in case of any problems, tell you exactly what's happening.

Our heating and cooling systems’ diagnostics include a full cooling system and a full heating system inspection. This inspection goes top to bottom on where the cooling system or heating system issue may be coming from.

A Full Vehicle Cooling System Inspection

To ensure that every area in your cooling system is accounted for, our mechanics will inspect the following components:

Evaporator:

Cold refrigerant in liquid form goes into the evaporator, where it absorbs the heat of the air that will go into the AMS to cool your car. This makes most of the refrigerant turn into a gas (evaporate)

Acumulator:

After the refrigerant absorbs the surrounding airs heat in the evaporator, it goes into the accumulator as a mix of gas and some liquid. The accumulator lets gas and only a little liquid go into the compressor so it can be pressurized.

Compressor:

It's the pumping heart of your cooling system. It takes the heated refrigerant in gas form and squeezes it to increase its pressure and temperature even more. This is needed to allow the refrigerant to get much colder by depressurizing it later.

Condenser:

Receives the refrigerant as hot compressed gas and turns most of it into a liquid by absorbing the refrigerants heat and releasing it outside the car.

Dryer:

Takes the refrigerant from the condenser and "dries" it by allowing through only the liquid part. This stops vaporized refrigerant from going through the rest of the system and leaving damaging residue.

Expansion valve (EV):

Takes the liquid refrigerant and "sprays" it to release its pressure. This cools the refrigerant before it goes into the evaporator again. The EV also regulates how much refrigerant circulates depending on the system's temperature given by sensors.

A Full Vehicle Heating System Inspection

To ensure that every area in your heating system is accounted for, our mechanics will inspect the following components:

Heater core:

It houses a small radiator (different from your engine’s radiator) and a fan. The hot coolant from your car’s engine goes into this radiator, heating the air inside the housing. Then, the fan pushes that air through the AMS inside the passenger’s cabin.

Thermostat:

Takes the liquid refrigerant and "sprays" it to release its pressure. This cools the refrigerant before it goes into the evaporator again. The EV also regulates how much refrigerant circulates depending on the system's temperature given by sensors.

Coolant pump:

Also called "water pump," it moves the coolant through the entire engine cooling system, which includes the heater's circuit.
