Great local specialty automotive shop, the guys have a high level of knowledge for foreign automobiles and have done beautiful work for me several times. Reasonable money for honest, high quality work. I trust them with my vehicles and you should too. If you have a car you care about I would have these guys servicing it. Don't make the mistake of taking your specialty automobile anywhere else.

The only place that touches my Audi. Vinny and the staff are awesome. Very honest and reasonable people. As long as I own a German vehicle, they will always be my spot for maintenance and other procedures. I highly recommend!

Vinny and crew are the best. Great service and honest pricing, never an upsell, if he says you need the work done you need the work done. He did work on my Ford Five Hundred, $200 for labor and parts....Ford Dealer in Berlin CT gave me quote for over $1,500 to do what Vinny did plus all the other upsell repairs that they said was needed.

A Full Vehicle Engine Inspection

There are many things that could be causing your engine to not run correctly. Our team of experienced mechanics will do an engine inspection on your vehicle to get to the problem.

To ensure that every area of your engine is accounted for, our mechanics will inspect the following components:

Engine Block:

The engine block is the main part of an engine. It's often made of aluminum or iron and it has several holes that contain the engine's cylinders. The engine block also has water and oil flow paths that cool and lubricate the engine.

Pistons:

The piston's role is to transfer energy created from combustion and is transferred to the crankshaft to propel the vehicle. Pistons travel up and down within the cylinder twice during each rotation of the crankshaft.

Cylinder Heads:

The cylinder head contains many items including the valve springs, valves, lifters, pushrods, rockers, and camshafts to control passageways that allow the flow of air into the cylinders during the intake stroke.

Crankshaft:

The crankshaft turns the piston’s up and down motion into a reciprocal motion, at engine speed.

Camshaft:

The camshaft regulates the timing of the opening and closing of valves and take the rotary motion from the crankshaft and transfer it to an up and down motion to control the movement of the lifters, moving the pushrods, rockers, and valves.

Timing Belt or Timing Chain:

A timing belt or timing chain is a part of an engine that synchronizes the rotation of the crankshaft and the camshaft. This allows the engine’s valves to open and close at the proper times during each cylinder’s intake and exhaust strokes.

Engine Valves:

Engine valves are mechanical components used in engines. They regulate the air, fuel, and exhaust gas flow in the combustion chambers or cylinder heads.

Oil Pan:

The oil pan keeps that oil contained in the lubrication system, so it’s important that the oil doesn’t leak out.

Combustion Chamber:

A combustion chamber is the area within the Cylinder where the fuel/air mix is ignited. As the piston compresses the fuel/air mix and makes contact with the spark plug, the mixture is combusted and pushed out of the combustion chamber in the form of energy.

Intake Manifold:

The intake manifold in a car is the part of the engine that distributes the airflow between the cylinders.

Exhaust Manifold:

The exhaust manifold is a simple cast iron or stainless steel unit that collects engine exhaust gas from multiple cylinders and delivers it to the exhaust pipe.

Spark Plugs:

A spark plug delivers an electric current from the ignition system in your vehicle to the combustion chamber. This ignites the compressed fuel/air mixture by an electric spark while containing combustion pressure within the engine.

Connecting Rod:

A connecting rod is the part of a piston engine that connects the piston to the crankshaft.

Piston Rings:

A piston ring is a metallic split ring that is attached to the outer diameter of a piston in an internal combustion engine or steam engine.

Cams:

The cams are mounted on the camshaft to control the inlet and exhaust valve timing.

Gaskets:

A gasket is a ring or used in static applications to seal joints, flanges, and other mating surfaces to prevent leakage. There are many different types of gaskets. Such as head gaskets, intake & exhaust manifold gaskets, water pump gasket, and an oil plan gasket

Cylinder Liner:

A cylinder liner is a thin metal cylinder-shaped part to be fitted into an engine block to form a cylinder.

Crank Case:

A crankcase is the housing for the crankshaft in a reciprocating internal combustion  engine.

Engine Distributor:

The distributor’s main function is to route secondary, or high voltage, current from the ignition coil to the spark plugs in the correct firing order, and for the correct amount of time.
