Great local specialty automotive shop, the guys have a high level of knowledge for foreign automobiles and have done beautiful work for me several times. Reasonable money for honest, high quality work. I trust them with my vehicles and you should too. If you have a car you care about I would have these guys servicing it. Don't make the mistake of taking your specialty automobile anywhere else.

The only place that touches my Audi. Vinny and the staff are awesome. Very honest and reasonable people. As long as I own a German vehicle, they will always be my spot for maintenance and other procedures. I highly recommend!

Vinny and crew are the best. Great service and honest pricing, never an upsell, if he says you need the work done you need the work done. He did work on my Ford Five Hundred, $200 for labor and parts....Ford Dealer in Berlin CT gave me quote for over $1,500 to do what Vinny did plus all the other upsell repairs that they said was needed.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOUR Muffler EXHAUST SYSTEM BE SERVICED?

The muffler and the tailpipe are the two elements of the exhaust system that need more maintenance. This is because they are usually placed below the car's floor, exposing them to the weather and road conditions.

Typically, these elements last between 40,000 to 80,000 miles, but demanding driving conditions reduce their lifespan. For example, it's common for your tailpipe or muffler to get hit by a rock while driving at high speeds, which causes them to leak.

Also, other signs let you detect potential problems with your exhaust system in general:

  • Your exhaust starts making loud sounds.
  • You hear your muffler or tailpipe clunking or bumping against your car's frame or the floor.
  • You hear "bangs" or "shots" coming from the bottom of your vehicle.
  • You hear a dragging noise when your car is moving.
  • Your tailpipe leaks in normal weather conditions.
  • The gas from your exhaust has a funny smell.

What Parts of My exhaust may need repair?

A Full Vehicle Cooling System Inspection

To ensure that every area of your muffler and exhaust system is accounted for, our mechanics will inspect the following components:

Exhaust Manifold:

Simply called "exhaust," it's a set of tubes that connect to each piston. The piston valves let out the burnt fuel gas after combustion, and the exhaust receives it so it can go through the rest of the system.

Catalytic Converter:

The catalytic converter receives the gas from the conduits and reduces its toxicity through a process called "catalysis." During catalysis, those molecules go through the conduits and react with the elements in each block, breaking the molecules into nitrogen, oxygen, and water.

Oxygen Sensors:

O2 sensors detect the oxygen levels of burnt gas. Modern systems have O2 sensors placed before and after the catalytic converter.

Resonator and Muffler:

The resonator and muffler to eliminate as much noise as possible. After the catalytic converter has purified the combustion gas, the gas still carries the noise from the combustion process.

Tail Pipe:

The tailpipe is the final element of the exhaust system that releases the gas to the outside after the system has treated it.
